Andrew R Williams – Author is interviewed by Andrew Greenhalgh.

Andrew is a CHARTERED Surveyor-turned-author

Andrew R Williams is back in outer space.

Almost a year after taking a dip in the murky waters of political scandal with his ninth novel Playing Dirty, the Rainhill writer is set to return shortly with Suzanne’s Escape, a sequel to Marooned.

Andrew said: “I loved writing Playing Dirty and I was thrilled by the reception it got from readers.  I’d always wanted to write a political novel – it was an itch that very much needed scratching!

“But sci-fi is my first love and I never had any plans to stop writing more adventures set in space. Most of my fans are dyed-in-the-wool sci-fi fanatics so I wouldn’t want to lose them by changing tack for good.”

Suzanne’s Escape

Suzanne’s Escape

Suzanne’s Escape is the seventh book in Williams’ hugely popular Arcadia’s Children series, and follows Suzanne Fyfield as she tries to escape certain death in the feeding chambers. Eaten alive by ravenous Arcadian wolf lavae!

Can  Akbar, the last of the guardians, help her escape?

Readers might assume that the normally friendly and jocular Williams wouldn’t kill off the brave Fyfield in her own book – but he is not averse to springing a surprise or two.

He said: “Does Suzanne escape the feeding chambers and the ravenous lavae with Akbar help?  (dastardly laugh)

“You’ll have to read the novel and find out. I’m not giving anything away!”

General info

Williams spent more than 30 years as a chartered surveyor before publishing his first novel Arcadia’s Children: Samantha’s Revenge back in 2017. Curious readers can download a copy of that first book free of charge on his website at https://andrewrwilliamsauthor.co.uk/product-category/e-book/

Following a number of requests, he is also planning to turn his novels into audiobooks, starting with Jim’s Revenge hopefully by the end of August – with its sequel Jim’s Pterodactyl, set to hit the shelves in 2024.

Williams is also becoming a Comic Con regular, and is looking forward to his second appearance of the year at Liverpool Comic Con on. Back in April one of the visitors to his stand was Sith Lord Darth Vader, who not only bought Jim’s Revenge but had this to say about it:

“Durn Durn Durn, Buy the Book, Buy the Book, Durn Durn Durn, it is Good, it is Good, Durn Durn Durn Dum Da Dum.  Plus Andrew’s a very nice man.”

Andrew R Williams is due to appear at Liverpool Comic Con at the Exhibition Centre in Liverpool between October 21-22. More information about the event at comicconventionliverpool.co.uk/
