Marooned A Prequel to the Arcadia’s Children Series – Given gold star.
Reviewer – Which line in Marooned jumped out at you?
My father was a wanted man, a war criminal, and if it hadn’t been for an underground movement who’d helped us escape, he would have been serving life imprisonment or given a death sentence
The plot is simple, the Empress of Incognita, a startship hits six mines and it is crippled. The wreck enters a wormhole to escape further bombardment. Its passengers are marooned on Arcadia. Mutiny and alien attacks follow. Bee Bee is an insecure teenager who was severely disfigured in an accident. However, he realized that he has other attributes that could allow people to view him in a more positive light—namely, courage and risk-taking in adverse and dangerous circumstances. His father was a selfish, egotistical man who basically cares only for himself, but Bee Bee has a decent relationship with his stepmother, despite the fact that his father has a roving eye for another woman. Bee Bee finds himself, through the aid of a voice only he hears in his dreams, responsible for saving the lives of others on his vessel as well as on the outside world.
Can Bee Bee stop the killing?
There are currently five books in the main Arcadia’s Children series The first book in Arcadia’s Children series, Arcadia’s Children: Samantha’s Revenge revolves around two enemy groups:-
A) The Great Ones. An alien species that lives in the Fyfield Valley of Arcadia.
B) The Minton Mining company on Arden, Arcadia’s main moon
Samantha is the deputy security director of the Minton Mining company. She is also a malfunctioning R9054 Ingermann-Verex robotic system which prefers to be thought of as a humanoid.
After sending her mercenary troops into the Fyfield Valley, they are totally routed by the Great One’s animal army but Smantha is determined to get her revenge.
The only survivor of the ill-fated mercenary invasion is Claire Hyndman. She’s is only clinging onto life because Samantha has put her in a suspension unit. Before joining the mercenary forces, Claire Hyndman worked as an archaeologist with a team of people, trying to discover what had happened to the survivors of a wrecked First Empire starship.
When Samantha captures Zia Warmers (a terrorist), she discovers that Warmers is a shape changer. When Claire Hyndman dies, Samantha brainwashes Zia Warmers and forces her to become Claire Hyndman. She also implants Claire’s skull to ensure she obeys orders.
She then pairs the new Claire Hyndman up with Mick Tarmy (also brainwashed and implanted) and sends them to Arcadia to continue her war against the great ones. Can Mick and Claire survive her deadly machinations? Can their protection droid save them?

With Pushley working against them and the bounty hunters chasing them, can Mick Tarmy, Claire Hyndman and Nonie Tomio escape from Cittavecchia?
If they do escape, can they get away without attracting the attention of Samantha, the Great Ones and the bounty hunters?
Tarmy and his friends have made enemies of them all and will need lots of help from Alex their TK5 ‘minder’ to make a clean break.
Who can they trust?
Who else will help them?

A shape-shifting mind-bending thriller that kept me hooked from the first chapter. Williams is now one of my favorite up-and-coming fantasy / science fiction authors and I’ll avidly await his future releases. The characters were fully developed which is something you don’t always find with smaller press publishing house authors. So much so that I’m sure I have missed out on some side-plot complexities on my first read, so I’ll be going back to reread in a while from now. I would definitely recommend giving this a read for any fans of the sci-fi / fantasy genres.
Arcadia’s Children 3: Pushley’s Escape is the third novel in the Arcadia’s Children series. Ed Pushley is an archaeologist, but his mind has been taken over by a spettro that Mick Tarmy dubbed as Irrelevant. (My name is Irrelevant, Mr Tarmy.) Irrelevant and Pushley are now one. Following Irrelevant’s death, their minds have fused. Kept captive by Alton Mygael, Pushley frantically tries to find a means of escape. Damaging his isolation helmet during a moment of frustration, Pushley realises that with perseverance he can remove it, and can use
Irrelevant’s immense psychic powers to gain his freedom. Once he does, what will he do to Mick Tarmy and his team? Pushley is intent on revenge.

Another cracking read, as I’ve said before one of the best parts about these novels is the characters and Pushley (and the evil alien in his head) delivers in spades. A great continuation in what is becoming a great series that deserves all the love it gets!
Ed Pushley is now on Midway and he’s looking to buy transports, causing mayhem whilst his dislike of Claire rises to new heights.
But hard on his tail, there’s Tarmy & his loyal band who’d really like to catch up with him. Will he make it as Samantha demands ever more loyalty from her subordinates in her reign of force?
And through all of this, will he even complete his mission?
Book number four of the fabulous Arcadia’s Children series will keep you guessing all the way
Samantha is under threat and that’s when she’s at her most dangerous.
She’s out for revenge after a failed deactivation attempt by her mysterious creator. Samantha’s War is a nail-biting continuation of the Arcadia’s Children Series. Find out if her diabolical plans finally succeed or if the fates have something else in mind for her & Walter Verex she sets out for revenge
This is the sequel to Pushley’s Escape, Samantha’s War is a nail biting continuation of the series. Yet again Mick Tarmy and his reinforcements come into play. Samantha remains the same old humanoid ruling by fear.
Does Samantha succeeds in her quest with her diabolical plans or not, does she manage to take out her enemies in the suicide missions she plans or is she captured by Mick Tarmy’s team remains to be seen.
Andrew takes us on an exiting & fast-paced ride and this sequel is a worthy addition to the Arcadia’s Children series. This leaves us wanting to know more, and I can’t wait to find out what happens next in this series.
As always, loved Andrew’s writing style, which makes me keep coming back for more. The riveting series is a welcome bonus that’s refreshing when you want a breather from your hectic day.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great character development

And the action continues to grow in this, the 5th book of the series. Ending with a hint of another book. Action follows this budding series across the universe while universe keeps on intriguing me.
I have found this book more enjoyable than the previous book. Maybe it is because everything is beginning to make sense or because of the character development, but I enjoyed this book more.
The author describes an adventurous story of alien invasion in a very vivid and convincing way that helps to turn the pages. Each character is drawn with great credibility and integrity, which makes this a great read.
A series I can recommend for any science fiction reader.
