The Autheniticy Project by Clare Pooley

The Autheniticy Project is not my normal reading but I’m pleased that it was one of the books chosen by my book club.

All the way through, I couldn’t help asking how Clare Pooley come up with the idea behind the novel.

It’s such an ingenious storyline.

I don’t wish to spoil the novel for future readers but ‘The Authenticity Project’ is the story of a group of unlikely strangers brought together by a shared notebook, that Julian, an elderly painter starts because he’s lonely. According to the notebook, Julian’s wife is dead. But is she really?

As well as Julian, the novel has a large cast, such as; the recovering drug addict, the wandering Australian gardener, and many more.

As the story unfolds the characters meet.  Most of the action centres around Monica’s café because Julian starts giving art lessons there.

Clare Pooley has created characters that you’d recognise from real life. A great novel.

The novel is well-written and a great read.

I will definitely be following this author in the future. Five stars from me.
